Dating savage rifle serial number

I would like to find out exactly what I have, most importantly the year. barrels, the gun must be pre 68' since there is no serial. I have 2 triggers, checkering in the stock as well as the forearm which I think is the beavertail style.
I think I have the ventilated rail - if this means the sight rail is raised up and has posts attaching it to the barrels rather than being a solid piece with the barrels.
But there are places to find older and obsolete ammo on the web, including the .303 Savage.
